Elisa is today the leading Finnish communications service company, offering voice and telecommunication services, customised communications service solutions and network operator services for private, corporate and institutional customer. Elisa is one of the main telecom companies in Europe in applying new technology. Elisa was founded in Helsinki in 1882. Finland is the main market for Elisa, but it has international operations in Estonia. Elisa has been listed on the Helsinki Stock Exchange since 1997.

GSM-based mobile communication started in Turkey when Turkcell started its operations in February 1994. In addition to high-quality wireless telephone services, Turkcell offers today also General Packet Radio Service ('GPRS') countrywide and Enhanced Data Rates for GSM Evolution ('EDGE') as well as roaming with more than 600 operators in over 200 countries.

Today, Turkcell operates in a three player market in Turkey with a market share of more than 50%. With its wide subscriber base, Turkcell is not only the leading operator in Turkey, but is also the third biggest GSM operator in Europe in terms of subscriber numbers.

Turkcell İletişim Hizmetleri A.Ş. has been traded on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and the since July 11, 2000 and the Istanbul Stock Exchange (ISE) since July 2009 and it is the first and only Turkish company ever to be listed on NYSE.

Tieto holds a leading position as a full-scale IT services provider in its home market in the Nordic countries and the Baltic Rim. In the international market, Tieto focuses on selected competence areas, aiming to bolster its leadership as the partner for telecom R&D services and its good market position in the forest and oil & gas industries.

TeliaSonera holds strong positions in mobile communications also in the emerging markets of Eurasia, including Turkey and Russia. At the end of 2006 TeliaSonera launched mobile services also in Spain. TeliaSonera provides high quality telecommunications services, including packaging and carrying content like sound, images, data, information, transactions and entertainment.

TeliaSonera is continuously exploiting new business opportunities on mobile and broadband networks, such as mobile data and IPTV, and expanding in the fast growing markets of Eurasia. Telenor Group is amoung the largest mobile operators in the world, and the third largest operator in Sweden. Telenor Sweden has two main business units; Business and Consumer. Mobitel Slovenia is the national mobile telecommunication operator, establishing and managing the infrastructure in Slovenia through their innovative technology and service solutions. Mobitel Slovenia was established in October 1991 as a limited liability company with the task of developing mobile telecommunications and creating a mobile network in Slovenia.

In November 1992, Mobitel Slovenia became a public limited company and in December 1995, Mobitel Slovenia was nominated by the Government of the Republic of Slovenia, as the country's national operator. In 1996, Mobitel Slovenia becomes a member of the GSM Association
