Valimo Enhances Mobile Authentication Service Offering by Adopting HP Integrity NonStop Platform

Helsinki, 7.9.2006 – Valimo today announced plans to enhance its solutions for innovative mobile authentication services by porting them to HP Integrity NonStop servers.

Valimo Wireless is the leading provider of mobile phone-based authentication and digital signature verification products in the EMEA region. Valimo solutions enable the creation of mobile phone digital signatures - only a SIM card and any GSM mobile phone are necessary. This ‘mobile signature’ is the equivalent of a conventional, legally-binding signature on a paper contract or the equivalent of showing a driver’s license or passport as identification. Mobile phones can be easily used to authenticate access to corporate resources, Internet banks, and other web-based services. In addition, the Valimo solution can be used to verify e-commerce transactions. Valimo’s mobile signature products are currently in use in Finland, Sweden, Poland, Slovenia, Lithuania and Kuwait.

The Valimo Validator MSSP product leverages a Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) running on HP Integrity NonStop servers. The outcome is a robust IT infrastructure that has the availability and scalability to support the performance requirements of mobile operator signature services, regardless of user-volumes or time of day. The solution uses Valimo’s industry standard Wireless Public Key Infrastructure (WPKI) technology along with PKI-enabled SIM cards in the mobile phone. The deployment of HP’s Integrity NonStop servers allows Valimo to run the Valimo Validator – MSSP core and the transaction database for archiving and signature processing information storage on the same physical system, thus eliminating the need for expensive third-party database clusters.
