Valimo Wireless Powers TeliaSonera Finland’s Mobile Identification Services

24.5.2006 - Helsinki Valimo Wireless announced today that it successfully delivered its Validator-MSSP technology to TeliaSonera in record time, enabling mobile phones to become the key tool for identifying users in e-services provided by TeliaSonera Finland’s retail and enterprise customers.

A mobile signature is the digital equivalent of a signature on a paper contract. It allows the mobile phone to become the pen necessary to sign for almost any e-service, like web banking, various documents to be filed with government agencies, and even entry to corporate intranets from outside of the office. Contrary to other identification schemes for e-services, mobile signatures require no additional devices and software, and no additional password lists.

“We believe that mobile signatures will become critical strategic assets for our corporate customers. Their ability to allow customers and employees to use the mobile phone to confirm access to web services and validate transactions will enable the next level of mobile e-services.,” says Jan Vettensaari at TeliaSonera Finland. “Whether the mobile phone subscriber is physically in Finland, Japan or elsewhere, he or she can easily confirm a transaction and the merchant can be sure of the authenticity.”
