Valimo iD Server helps on-line banks to master the deployment of multiple authentication methods.

25.8.2006 - Helsinki As a response to the increasing sophistication of internet-based fraud, on-line businesses are responding with an increasing diverse range of security and authentication methods for their customers.

The IT industry is already talking about a path of emerging authentication models - starting with user name and personal identification numbers, via one time passwords authentication to security tokens. In particular banks refer to this evolution path as being a “security staircase” with the highest steps being reserved for digital-certificate based authentication methods and security tokens like the mobile phone.

Valimo iD Server enables banks to gently walk up the security staircase, while simultaneously supporting a range of non-PKI authentication methods, such as PIN/TAN lists, one-time passwords send via SMS to a mobile phone.
