| News Archive 200521.06.2005 Helsinki 21.6.2005 Valimo today announced that its Validator MSSP enabled the first official registrations based on the ETSI Mobile Signature Service standard (MSS) by the leading Finnish mobile operator Elisa, together with the public Certification Authority Population Register Center (VRK), using the Finnish Police as the official Registration Authority. This is an important milestone in the acceleration of end-user registration and application usage by the larger public. Elisa's WPKI initiative has always been at the forefront of technological development, and now there are strong signs of application and service provider demand for its affordable and easy-to-use strong authentication and signature services. New FiCom (Finnish Federation for Communications and Teleinformatics) guidelines published on May 25th, 2005 set guidelines for mobile citizen certificate services and define technical interfaces to MSS services for operators and service providers. Valimo views this as an critical step from FiCom towards actively promoting WPKI services in Finland. "Elisa has been in the forefront of mobile operators investing into WPKI services since 2001, and has been a key customer and partner for Valimo since 2002.
