TietoEnator Corporate Banking and Valimo Wireless launch strong mobile authentication for eBanking

Helsinki 3.11.2005 TietoEnator Corporation Banking and Insurance and Valimo Wireless Oy launched a joint initiative to embed Valimo's ID Server technology into TietoEnator's eBanking solutions in order to offer ready-made, flexible and secure user authentication and transaction confirmation solutions. The companies are working together in several customer projects already, with the initial deployment to Montenegro's leading bank, Crnogorska Komercijalna Banka, already taken into commercial production on October 1, 2005.

Valimo Wireless Oy is the leading supplier of strong mobile identity solutions based on a variety of authentication methods including one time passwords (OTP) and wireless PKI (wPKI). The joint solution will be offered to the banking and insurance sectors.

Valimo's authentication technology allows alternatives to authenticate in various service-channels to the banking solutions in the future. Parallel authentication methods beside of traditional password-lists can be offered. New methods are mobile phone with one-time-password and Wireless PKI - authentication and electrical signing possibilities. These technologies are increasing security, user-friendliness and availability of services.
