Lithuanian mobile operator, Omnitel, has started to use electronic signatures on mobile telephones.

The Committee on the Development of an Information Society, under the Parliament of the Republic of Lithuania, in collaboration with the telecommunications company Omnitel, has started using electronic signatures on mobile telephones for its inside use. This is one of the first times when such a practice has been instigatedin Europe and the first time when an infrastructure of secure electronic signatures has been used on mobile telephones in the Baltic States.
