| News Archive 200228.05.2002 May 28, 2002 - Valimo Wireless, a Finnish security software company, announced today having published Valimo Radius Module, a new versatile solution for PKI-based strong user authentication in remote access connections. The Valimo Radius Module is an easy-to-use middleware for seamlessly integrating Valimo Validator into an incumbent Radius service architecture. With this solution a user's identity in remote access connections is always secured with PKI-based digital signatures. For access to a secured network or a protected data resource (e.g. VPN, corporate intranet, etc), the user is required to digitally sign an access request message with his mobile phone. The mobile phone can either be a GSM phase 2+ phone or a WAP 1.2.1 enabled mobile device equipped with WAP SignText and WIM functionality. "Previously, strong user authentication for logging into a corporate network demanded the use of so-called security tokens. Security tokens are small hardware plugs that contain a unique user profile for each user. However, with the Valimo Radius Module and Valimo Validator a user's mobile phone will provide even better level of security.", comments Jarkko Elonen, CEO of Valimo. "The launched solution brings also remarkable savings to corporations by eliminating the need to purchase and maintain additional security tokens and relating infrastructure.", Elonen continues. The Valimo Radius Module is immediately available for delivery. About ValimoValimo Wireless Ltd specializes in developing software to secure and perform transactions with mobile devices.
