| News Archive 200113.11.2001 November 13, 2001 - Valimo Wireless has today launched a Valimo Demo Center, a web-based site witch introduces a number of application possibilities enabled by Valimo Validator. Valimo Demo Center is developed for operators, service providers and business partners who want to test new services enabled by Valimo Validator from the user’s point of view. In addition, the Valimo Demo Center illustrates the service integration process for service and application developers. "Valimo Demo Center is an outstanding opportunity to see the huge potential of different services enabled PKI-based transaction validation. We urge all companies interested in e- and m-commerce to join the Valimo Demo Center to learn how to deploy transaction validation services in their own business.", comments Jarkko Elonen, Valimo’s CEO. Sample applications are developed to illustrate the very small integration effort when developing applications using Valimo Validator for PKI-based user authentication and transaction validation. The sample applications include on-line banking with access control, web-based movie store, a mobile payment solution and many more typical web-based services. All sample applications use Valimo Validator for transaction validation and user authentication. The transaction validation process is very simple: First the user negotiates an agreement in an on-line service. When the agreement needs to be confirmed, the confirmation message is sent to the user’s mobile phone to be signed. If the user accepts the transaction, he signs the confirmation message with the digital signature generated in the SIM card in his mobile phone. After the successful confirmation, the access to the requested content is granted. The transaction validation process is completely handled by Valimo Validator, which allows service developers to concentrate on the service specific features. For user the transaction validation is an extremely easy process too: User waits for confirmation message to appear in his or her mobile phone and accepts the transaction by signing it with a digital signature. The digital signature is generated in the phone’s SIM-card when the user enters his four-digit signature PIN. The same signature PIN is used for all services and for all service providers, which makes it very easy to use for end users. It is good to notice that the signature PIN is not the same PIN, which is used when turning the phone on. More information about Valimo Demo Center can be found in Valimo Forum (www.valimo.com).
