Valimo enters into partners with smart card company Setec.
Finnish mobile software company and Setec Group have signed a partnership agreement concerning product development, marketing and sales. Companies' products are complementary, i.e. Setec's smart card solution can be incorporated into Valimo’s data security software.

April 4, 2001 - The partnership agreement strengthens the market position of both companies in the rapidly growing data security market. The parties have agreed on the incorporation of Setec's PKI (Public Key Infrastructure) enabled smart card solution into Valimo’s data security software. Companies' products are complementary as both comply with open and standardized application interfaces.

Both companies anticipate that PKI based smart cards will have an important role in the security solutions of e-commerce in the near future. The incorporation of Setec's PKI smart cards into Valimo’s Validator transaction security software will offer banks, telecom operators, public authorities and large corporations complete solution for securing their mCommerce services.

Valimo’s and Setec’s partnership will be officially released in Madrid 2.-4.4. IBC's SIM 2001 event by demonstrating secure mobile payment, based on Valimo Validator and PKI-SIM cards manufactured by Setec. In the mobile phone users point of view the demonstration proofs that end-to-end secured mobile payments are reality. Same mobile PKI-technology is used to secure transactions in mobile and fixed-line internet including stock brokering, access-control, betting, gambling etc.
