Valimo Enters Africa - First Mobile ID Implementation in Egypt

Valimo provides multipurpose Mobile ID technology to kick off first pilot implementations in Middle East and Africa.

Egypt Trust, a Digital Signature and Information provider, and Valimo, the global market leader in Mobile ID solutions, announced an agreement to launch Mobile ID service pilots in Egypt. The Mobile ID service is delivered in co-operation with Valimo's partner Professional Services & Integrated Solutions "ProSIS", a leading IT security consultant and Valimo's Business Partner.

At the first stage of the launch, the Mobile ID service platform is offered to selected Egyptian service providers. The providers were chosen by analysing customers' interests and prioritising banking, governmental and brokering segments. Mobile ID can be used to access and confirm transactions in cardless ATM's and online stock trading services.

Seppo Pohja joins Valimo Wireless as CTO

Valimo Wireless has a new Chief Technical Officer (CTO) - Seppo Pohja.
Mr. Pohja joined Valimo from Nokia, where he has acted as Senior Manager, leading the system programs that created the authentication and connectivity solutions for global Internet services.

In his new role at Valimo, Pohja is in charge of the company's technology strategy, research and development. Over the years, Mr. Pohja has been working in a number of other research and development activities including roadmapping, strategy formulation, program management, systems security and architecture. Pohja has also held research and visiting scholar positions at Tampere University of Technology, Stanford University, NASA-Ames Research Institute of Advanced Computer Science and Swedish Institute of Computer Science and he holds a D.Sc. in Technology from Helsinki University of Technology.

Meet Valimo at GSMA Mobile World Congress 2010

Meet with Valimo in Barcelona at Mobile World Congress 2010, 15-18 February.

Again in February, for four days, Barcelona will become the place for all the serious players in the mobile eco-system to meet. Valimo will be present at Barcelona in the Mobile World Congress in February.

PKI Seminar in Saudi Arabia 15.-16. December

On December 16th, Valimo will speak at a PKI Seminar in Riyadh.

Valimo CCO Antti Vihavainen, will be speaking with the title "Mobile phone as a Tool for Expanding PKI Use - Best practices and future strategies." The presentation will include examples of convenient and secure ways for Identification and will show how mobile phones can be integrated with the national PKI infrastructure and which factors contribute to the success of the mobile signature business ecosystem in the decades to come.

The Saudi Arabian conference is hosted by the National Center for Digital Certification (NCDC) The event will explore the experiences, opportunities and challenges in PKI, aiming at developing ideas and visions, priorities and mechanisms for successful deployment of public key certificates.
