Matti Rusi, CEO: Mr. Rusi joined Valimo Wireless in March 2008 as CEO. Matti brings valuable experience growing Basware from a small software venture to a publicly listed leader. Starting at Basware in 1997, he led several operations in Europe and started Basware's operations in the US, serving as its first President. Most recently Matti was SVP of Global Operations and a member of Basware's executive team. Matti has an MBA from Henley Management College.
Juha Murtopuro, VP - Sales & Marketing: Mr. Murtopuro joined Valimo Wireless in April 2008. Before that, Juha worked as Chief Marketing Officer at Wayfinder Systems Ab. Prior to that, he was the CEO of Navicore Ltd, one of the leading global providers of mobile phone navigation which was acquired by Wayfinder Systems Ab in July 2007. Before Navicore, Juha worked in various global management roles for over 5 years at Nokia Corporation until November 2005. His last role at Nokia was as a Sales Director for China and Asia-Pacific. Before Nokia, Juha worked at British American Tobacco for different sales and brand management roles in the Nordics. As his last role, he was managing the Lucky Strike Formula 1 sponsorship at British American Racing in Northern Europe from 1999-2000. Juha has a MSc (Econ) degree from Helsinki School of Economics.
Timo Palo, Vice President - R&D: Mr. Palo previously worked for Uniqminds Oy as a systems specialist (2000-2006) being responsible for product design and development, as well as, new product innovations. Previously he worked for Nokia Telecommunications as a Software Development Team Leader, in Mobile Internet Core Systems. He has also worked as Database Development Team Leader, in messaging applications and as a Senior Software Engineer for Wireless data and system services within Nokia. During his long career Timo also worked for Finnair, and for Finnish Postal and Telecommunication office (Posti- ja Telelaitos).
Ron Rubinstein, CFO: Mr. Rubinstein joined Valimo Wireless as CFO in 2006. Prior to Valimo, he was Vice President - Finance at two Silicon Valley startups: COLO.COM and WST Group where he helped raise over $500 million in equity and debt finance, set strategy and conduct M&A operations. Before this, Ron was Vice President – Finance at De Anza Corp., a Los Angeles manager of SEC-registered real estate partnerships. Mr. Rubinstein has an MBA from the Helsinki School of Economics and an MA and BA from UCLA.
Tapio Vailahti, EVP - Product Marketing: Mr. Vailahti is a smart card and security application veteran with 20+ years industry experience. Previously he was Vice President for Identity Product and Solution Management at Gemplus and earlier with Setec, the leading Nordic smart card vendor, which was acquired by Gemplus in 2005. Tapio headed Setec's Telecom & Media Business Unit prior to the Gemplus acquisition. Tapio has an M.Sc. degree in Computer Science from the University of Oulu.
Antti Vihavainen, SVP - Professional Services & Business Development: Mr.Vihavainen formerly worked at F-Secure where he was responsible for managing global mobile operator sales and relationships with handset manufacturers. Antti is a frequent speaker at seminars and conferences regarding mobile security. He was also F-Secure’s official spokesperson for interviews with newspapers and analysts.
Mikko Virtanen, CTO: Mr. Virtanen formerly worked as a R&D team leader at Nokia Wireless Business Communications and Nokia Ventures 1996 - 2000. He holds several IPR's in the field of mobile communications. Mikko's educational background is from the Helsinki University of Technology and he is one of Valimo's founders.
